Corvias Foundation Advances Education and Career Readiness for Military Families at Fort Bragg
Resource fair brings together organizations including the USO, Embry Riddle University, and other partners to support military family success
FORT BRAGG, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The nonprofit Corvias Foundation reinforced its commitment to military-connected families with a free college and career resource fair at Fort Bragg with local, regional, and national partners to help families and their students navigate multiple paths to education and career success.
Military families relocate on average every two to three years, creating potential school disruptions for the more than 1.6 million military children. Frequent moves can affect everything from academic continuity to support systems and military spouse employment.
“This event intentionally meets families where they are,” said Corvias Foundation Executive Director Julie Allen. “By bringing local universities, literacy organizations, and veteran and spouse employment groups directly onto the installation, we make it easier for families to explore opportunities and meet with trusted resources to map their next steps.”
Highlighting Community Support
The resource fair paired family-friendly activities with practical education and career guidance. Children practiced reading skills alongside American Red Cross therapy dogs and participated in interactive activities, while parents and older students connected with experts on college planning, workforce development, school support services, and navigating GI Bill and in-state tuition benefits.
Participating organizations included American Corporate Partners and ForgeNow, which provide career support for veterans and military spouses; Fayetteville Technical Community College and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which shared higher education resources; and United Through Reading, USO, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and other community partners focused on family wellness, literacy, and educational support.
Since 2006, Corvias Foundation has donated more than $20 million in support of education efforts for military connected families. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the foundation has supported more than 500 military-connected families. Through free events like this resource fair, scholarships, and College Connection, Corvias Foundation remains committed to helping military families thrive.
