On June 6, 1966, CHIN Radio first went on air, ushering in a new era of multicultural broadcasting in Ontario and helping shape Canada's identity as a diverse and inclusive nation. From its earliest days, CHIN became a vital voice for newcomers, providing a trusted media outlet for immigrants arriving in Toronto from around the world seeking opportunity and a better future for their families.

For 60 years, CHIN has served as a cultural bridge, connecting generations of Canadians through language, music, news, and shared stories. Today, CHIN Radio broadcasts on five frequencies across Toronto and Ottawa, delivering programming in more than 50 languages each week and producing over 12 hours of multilingual television programming weekly, airing on Rogers Omni Television and Citytvan enduring testament to its commitment to inclusion and representation.

60th Anniversary Celebrations, Presented by Rogers

Taste of Little Italy Festival. CHIN is proud to be part of the Taste of Little Italy Festival, taking place June 12–14 on College Street between Bathurst and Shaw. Together, the Little Italy BIA and CHIN Radio will offer festival-goers performances by talented artists featured on the main stage, highlighting the rich cultural diversity that makes this event so special.

CHIN Picnic, Presented by Rogers. The CHIN Picnic will showcase artists from the Chinese, Italian, Brazilian, and Latino communities in a spectacular multicultural celebration.

Special 60th Anniversary Ceremony. A special acknowledgment ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 13, at 4:00 p.m. on the main stage located at College and Crawford. The ceremony will feature guest speakers in recognition of CHIN Radio’s six decades of service, cultural programming, and contributions to multicultural communities across Canada. The celebration will include a cake-cutting ceremony and 60 multicoloured balloon release.
