Matera Expands U.S. Presence with Key Leadership Hires

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Matera, a global leader in payment modernization solutions, announced today the appointment of John Wilson as Head of Solutions Engineering and Mark Scarmozzino as Senior Vice President of Sales. These strategic hires will support Matera’s continued expansion to North America as financial institutions accelerate their adoption of real-time payments, and look for modern technology to ensure resiliency in their Core operations.

Wilson brings extensive expertise in Core banking and instant payments from his time at FIS where he led the development, launch, and management of FedNow and RTP solutions. His deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem and hands-on experience driving instant payment innovation will be instrumental in helping Matera’s clients navigate and implement next-generation payment infrastructure.

Scarmozzino joins Matera with a strong background in financial technology sales and account management, previously holding leadership roles at ACI Worldwide, Fiserv and Metavante. With a track record of driving growth and fostering relationships with financial institutions, Scarmozzino will play a crucial role in expanding Matera’s footprint in the U.S., ensuring banks and credit unions have the technology needed to modernize their payment and core banking systems.
