NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Friday, July 4, Macy’s will celebrate its iconic Macy's 4th of July Fireworks® celebration live from the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, painting the New York City skyline with vibrant colors and sound and creating unforgettable memories for millions across the country. The 49th edition of the nation’s largest Independence Day celebration will fire more than 80,000 shells, 30 vibrant colors and awe-inspiring effects, including state-of-the-art projection mapping on the Brooklyn Bridge.

The eye-catching pyrotechnics will be set to a musical score produced by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and James Poyser. Inspired by the enduring spirit of America, the 25-minute musical score will celebrate shared connection by featuring iconic hits and patriotic selections spanning decades and genres. In addition to lending her talents to the year’s score, Academy Award-winner Ariana DeBose will host this year’s festivities.
Before the fireworks light up the sky, a star-studded line up will take the stage on The Rooftop at Pier 17 live from New York City. Audiences can tune in to see exhilarating performances by Jonas Brothers, Eric Church, Lenny Kravitz, Ava Max, Keke Palmer and Trisha Yearwood in advance of Macy’s pyrotechnic celebration. Additionally, this year’s NBC telecast will also celebrate the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, as well as the NBA’s return to NBC this Fall.
For the first time, the East and West towers of the Brooklyn Bridge will serve as a canvas for large-scale projection mapping as part of the Macy’s 4th of July celebration. Millions of live viewers will experience a fully choreographed, architecturally mapped projection experience.
Conceived, designed and produced by Macy’s Studios in collaboration with Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, the show’s 49th edition will showcase pyrotechnic effects including crackling crown jellyfish, atomic rings, yellow & green sunbursts, strobing lemon cascades, comet fans and more, will paint the night sky, culminating in the signature, fan-favorite moment, the Macy’s Golden Mile.
A beloved summertime tradition since 1976, the 2025 edition of the Fireworks will feature state-of-the-art technology and custom-made effects to dazzle and delight live spectators and viewers nationwide. Fired from four barges positioned between Pier 17 and the Downtown Manhattan Heliport on the lower East River in the Seaport District, pyrotechnics will reach 1,000 feet and fall to the water’s edge creating spectacular visuals and unforgettable moments.
Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026.
Public viewing will be available from any area with an unobstructed view of the sky above the lower East River with the show launched from the Brooklyn Bridge and four surrounding barges. Additional details on public viewing, as well as a New York City sponsored lottery for free public viewing tickets will be announced in the coming weeks.

Viewers nationwide can tune in to “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks” on NBC or simulcast live on Peacock® at 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET, 7:00-9:00 p.m. CT/MT. An encore presentation of the show will also air at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. Additionally, a Spanish language simulcast will air on Telemundo at 9 p.m. ET.
