Gov. Henry McMaster, Author Michael Shellenberger Headline The Nuclear Frontier Documentary Premiere

Also speaking are leaders of TVA, Constellation and American Conservation Coalition

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Nuclear Frontier, a new feature documentary exploring the future of nuclear power in America, today announced the full lineup of speakers for its world premiere on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the John F. The premiere will include a keynote address by best-selling author and journalist Michael Shellenberger, as well as a ceremony honoring South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster for his commitment to expanding nuclear power. South Carolina ranks as the third-largest nuclear-producing state with nuclear generating more than half of its power.

Directed by award-winning and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Evan Mascagni (Building a Bridge, Circle of Poison), The Nuclear Frontier follows young advocates and business leaders as they push for the expansion of nuclear power in America, where energy demand is surging due to factors including the construction of AI data centers.

Two panel discussions will be held prior to the film’s premiere:

  • Moderator: American Conservation Coalition President Chris Barnard
  • Panelist: Palantir Head of Defense Mike Gallagher
  • Panelist: CIV Founder Patrick Maloney
  • Panelist: New American Industrial Alliance Co-founder & CEO and Reindustrialize Co-founder Austin Bishop

The Nuclear Frontier offers an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at how industry, technology, and policy are converging to build America’s next generation of nuclear power. Filmed across the country at sites including Diablo Canyon Power Plant in California and the University of South Carolina, the documentary follows young advocates and business leaders championing nuclear’s role in addressing climate, energy security, and economic growth.

The premiere marks the start of a nine-state tour with screenings on 14 college campuses. Mascagni hopes the tour will spark a national conversation on the future of nuclear power and the role of the next generation in building it. The public is invited to the documentary’s premiere screening at the Kennedy Center. The event opens with a reception at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, followed by programming and the film’s screening.
