InvoiceCloud Customer and Leader Honored as Exceptional Women in Utilities by Women Who SPARK Awards

Winners celebrated for industry contributions, leadership at Utility 2030’s Annual SPARK Meeting

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--InvoiceCloud, a leading provider of online billing and payment services, announced that both an InvoiceCloud customer and InvoiceCloud team member were recognized at the Utility 2030 Women Who SPARK Awards, which celebrate innovation, leadership, and mentorship in the utility sector.

Beth Huerta, Client Services Manager at Global Water Resources, Inc., was recognized for her leadership in advancing customer engagement and operational efficiency. She led the launch of a new customer portal that drove record-breaking online enrollment and significantly expanded paperless billing adoption. In addition to her expertise in automated meter technology, she has contributed to leadership development within her organization by mentoring colleagues and helping to develop nearly a third of its managers.

Michelle Whittaker, Manager, Customer Success at InvoiceCloud, has been recognized for her leadership, mentorship, and impact across the utility sector. In her role, Michelle partners closely with customers — sharing best practices and industry insights to ensure they stay ahead of key trends that drive cost savings, improved efficiency, and greater adoption of electronic billing and digital payments. At the same time, she remains deeply committed to mentoring colleagues and fostering collaboration, strengthening not only her team but the broader InvoiceCloud community.

Michelle’s impact is also felt directly by customers: “Michelle is one in a million. I will forever be grateful that our paths crossed,” said Lisa Vogel, Billing Clerk at Bethalto Public Works. “She is always kind and compassionate, and willing to help, even when her plate is very full. Congratulations, Michelle!” Alice Bryce, Treasurer for the City of Burton, echoed this sentiment, noting: “What I appreciate most is how proactive she is. Michelle doesn’t just wait for us to reach out—she checks in, follows up, and makes sure we’re set up for success. It’s clear that she truly cares about our account and our experience, and that makes all the difference.”

Together, the honorees were celebrated at the September 16 Women Who SPARK Awards Gala, co-hosted by Alice Palmer, Chief Marketing Officer at InvoiceCloud. Palmer highlighted the achievements of women across the sector, reinforcing InvoiceCloud’s commitment to advancing leadership, innovation, and mentorship in utilities.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the 2025 Women Who SPARK Awards and to stand alongside so many inspiring leaders,” said Michelle Whittaker, Manager, Customer Success at InvoiceCloud. “At InvoiceCloud, our success is tied to our customers’ success, and I was proud to celebrate with Beth Huerta and other exceptional women driving positive change in utilities.”

Now in its fourth year, the Women Who SPARK Awards honor leaders advancing innovation and leadership in utilities. Winners are selected by a distinguished panel of judges across six categories and were recognized during the U2030 SPARK Annual Meeting in Seattle on Sept. 16.
