PMI U.S. Celebrates Completion of Veterans Housing Village in Longmont, CO

Veterans Community Project hosts “housewarming party” on June 12 with new residents and project supporters, including PMI U.S.

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Philip Morris International Inc.’s U.S. businesses (PMI U.S.) congratulate Veterans Community Project (VCP) for completing construction of its veterans village in Longmont, Colorado, joining VCP and state, regional and community leaders for a housewarming event. PMI U.S. provided VCP with a $250,000 investment in 2024, with a portion of the resources dedicated to the critical services provided to veterans in the village, which provides housing and social services to area veterans at no cost. PMI U.S. has committed an additional $250,000 to VCP in 2025.

“VCP Village is a powerful example of what is possible when people come together with purpose and compassion,” said J.B. Simko, Chief Civil Society & Underage Prevention Officer at PMI U.S. “We’re honored to support Veterans Community Project and proud to see our partnership translate into real impact—providing safe, dignified housing and a fresh start to those who have served our nation as part of the U.S. military.”

Designed to assist veterans experiencing homelessness, the village offers housing and comprehensive support services to help residents regain stability and independence. Located on a two-acre property about 13 miles northeast of Boulder, the village features 26 tiny homes and a 3,000-square-foot community center. Each single-occupancy home is 240 square feet; the village’s five family homes are 340 square feet and can sleep up to seven people.

The VCP “housewarming party” for residents and the local community will be held June 12. PMI U.S. will participate in the event, along with other project supporters, including state, regional and community leaders.

“VCP Village provides everything a veteran needs to live with dignity and safety,” said Jennifer Seybold, Executive Director of Veterans Community Project of Longmont. “The completion of our project in Longmont is made possible by the support of the local community and generous funding from business partners, such as PMI U.S.”

Military and veterans support is a core giving area for PMI U.S. In 2024, the company renewed its commitment to support the military community nationwide with an investment of more than $3 million. In Colorado, PMI U.S. also supports the Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project, which provides free legal services to veterans, as well as Colorado Gold Star Mothers and the Colorado Freedom Memorial.

In July 2024, PMI U.S. announced a $600 million investment over two years to build a manufacturing facility in Aurora, Colorado, to produce its FDA-authorized nicotine pouch product, ZYN. PMI U.S. is currently hiring and plans to employ more than 500 people to work at its new state-of-the-art facility.
