BTIG Launches Hedge Fund Solutions Group to Meet Evolving Client Needs

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BTIG announced today the formation of its Hedge Fund Solutions Group. Paul Covello and David Gold will serve as Co-Heads of the U.S. division, with Trevor Harrison, Chief Executive Officer of BTIG Singapore, leading efforts in the APAC region. The Tactical Hedge Fund Group based in London will continue to support the firm’s client base across EMEA. The Hedge Fund Solutions Group will work alongside the firm’s institutional businesses, outsource trading and prime brokerage teams to provide advisory services to hedge funds and family offices, with a focus on business strategy, infrastructure, due diligence, compliance, talent management and technology.

Paul Covello joins BTIG as a Managing Director with more than 25 years of industry experience, including both buy- and sell-side roles. Most recently, he was the Global Head of Outsource Trading at Jefferies, where he led teams in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and developed strategies and solutions for hedge fund clients across the globe. His previous roles include Global Head of Trading at Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn and trading positions at JAT Capital and Pequot Capital.

David Gold also joins the firm as a Managing Director. Previously, he was the Global Chief Operating Officer at Optima Partners, responsible for global business operations, HR, IT, and finance. Prior to that, he was an Executive Director for Morgan Stanley’s Prime Brokerage Business Consulting team, advising start-up and existing hedge fund managers. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Willis Towers Watson, BlackRock, Mitsui & Co., and CIBC Oppenheimer.

Trevor Harrison is currently the Chief Executive Officer of BTIG Singapore. Previously, he was a Vice President of Sales and Capital Introduction at Citigroup Global Markets Holdings Inc., where he was responsible for Prime Brokerage in the Australian market. Prior to that, he held sales and marketing roles at State Street Australia Limited.
