The comprehensive initiative includes high-priority infrastructure improvements across the company’s portfolio, including Camp Lejeune, MCAS Cherry Point, MCAS Beaufort, MCRD Parris Island, Westover, Stewart Terrace, Naval Station Great Lakes, and NSA MidSouth. The investment reflects HMC’s disciplined, systematic approach to capital planning and its continued partnership with the Department of War to deliver safe, reliable, and resilient residential environments for service members and their families.

Focus on Long-term Asset Stewardship

The funding prioritizes upgrades and improvements that reduce risk, enhance functionality, and strengthen neighborhood viability. Planned improvements include:

  • Modern HVAC systems designed with energy efficiency and compatibility with smart home integration, improving system reliability, lowering energy costs, and enhancing resident comfort while supporting long-term sustainability
  • Roof replacements across hundreds of homes, mitigating water intrusion, protecting the structures and assets inside, as well as managing insurance cost increases
  • Building envelope, window resealing, and exterior upgrades to enhance weather resistance and durability
  • Installation of fall protection devices on qualifying windows to improve resident safety
  • Interior renovations and targeted demolition, improving living conditions, removing obsolete structures, and enhancing overall neighborhood conditions

“These investments focus on the fundamentals of reliable housing, including roofs, HVAC systems, building envelopes, interior conditions, and life safety features,” said Brian Stann, CEO & President of Hunt Military Communities. “Our goal is to prioritize projects that deliver the greatest lasting value, protect this critical national infrastructure, and improve the resident experience.”

Part of a Broader, Ongoing Reinvestment Strategy

This initiative reinforces a consistent pattern of reinvestment across the company’s national military housing portfolio. In 2025, HMC placed more than $190 million in capital improvement projects across its portfolio and approved an additional $160 million of new major capital projects, building on the $220 million in capital and sustainment investments made in 2024.

Each project is planned and executed in coordination with military partners to align with installation priorities and long-term asset needs. Construction timelines will vary by installation and scope, with work sequenced to minimize disruption to residents and maintain continuity of services.

Through continued reinvestment in housing quality, HMC remains focused on supporting readiness, strengthening military communities, and providing safe, dependable living environments for the service members and families who call these communities home.
