Touchplan Gains Visual Intelligence with BoardScan

New AI Turns Big Room Planning Boards into Digital Production Plans

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a keynote speech today at the ENR FutureTech conference, MOCA Systems, Inc. (MSI) announced the general availability of BoardScan, its new AI technology in Touchplan, the leading collaborative construction planning solution. BoardScan combines multiple AI technologies to capture and interpret handwritten planning notes and then automatically create and sequence those tasks on the Touchplan digital planning platform.

Available free of charge to all Touchplan users, BoardScan replaces time-consuming, error-prone manual transcription with a Snap-Review-Post routine that is intuitive, fast, and reliable. And unlike other Generative AI offerings that pass processing costs along to the user, BoardScan costs users nothing up front and nothing down the line.

“BoardScan seamlessly bridges the construction planning information gap between analog ideation and digital execution, while allowing for seamless transitions and important data capture for project analysis,” said Brett Adamczyk, President of the MSI Software Division. "At the scale of typical Touchplan megaprojects, like data centers and chip fabs, BoardScan saves countless hours of work and, even more importantly, helps prevent a costly cascade of planning errors being carried forward into the project.”

Users can employ any smartphone or camera-equipped tablet to photograph the planning board and upload the image to the Touchplan cloud where BoardScan AI analyzes the image and extracts all the information about tasks, roles, promised completion dates, and other associated planning details. On occasions where the handwriting is not legible to the software, workers can easily review, edit, and complete the ticket information before adding it into the project plan.

“BoardScan makes project kickoffs a breeze for large and small customers alike,” said Daniel Quaroni, Vice President of Software Engineering at MSI. “It lets their teams spend less time typing and more time collaborating, assuring smoother, faster project starts every time.”

BoardScan is now available to all Touchplan customers and partners around the world for immediate use with no need for AI training, setup procedures, or software expertise.
