HARMAN Named 2025 Supplier of the Year by General Motors

Recognition highlights HARMAN’s innovation in audio and infotainment and its role in delivering premium in-cabin experiences at scale

NOVI, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HARMAN, the automotive technology leader and a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has been named a 2025 Supplier of the Year by General Motors at GM’s 34th annual Supplier of the Year event in Austin, Texas. HARMAN was recognized in the Audio Visual Information Systems (AVIS) Creativity Team category for its innovation and execution.

“We’re proud to be recognized once again by General Motors as a Supplier of the Year,” said Christian Sobottka, President and Chief Executive Officer at HARMAN. “This recognition underscores our shared commitment to innovation and execution, bringing premium audio and intelligent cockpit experiences to vehicles at scale. Our long‑standing collaboration with GM is built on trust, technical excellence, and a relentless focus on delivering value for drivers around the world.”

HARMAN has partnered with GM for more than 15 years and has now earned Supplier of the Year recognition five times. This latest recognition also marks the second win since launching the AKG brand in automotive, underscoring the strength of our premium audio offering and continued leadership in the category.

GM’s Supplier of the Year awards recognize top-performing global suppliers for excellence in areas including innovation, safety and resilience. Award recipients are selected by a cross-functional GM team based on performance, alignment with GM’s values, and contribution to the company’s strategic priorities. Honorees represent the top 5% of GM’s global supply base.

“Supplier of the Year is one of those key moments our whole team looks forward to every year because it highlights the partnerships behind every vehicle we build,” Shilpan Amin, Senior Vice President, Global Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, General Motors. “The results our suppliers deliver throughout the entire product development cycle are central to our ability to deliver world-class vehicles to our customers. When our suppliers, such as HARMAN, lean in with us on new technology and flawless execution, we can move faster, compete harder and unlock more value across the entire supply chain.”

This year, 103 suppliers across 14 countries made GM’s 2025 Supplier of the Year list. For more information, visit news.gm.com.
