TROY, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Despite a notable $54 increase in the average price paid for appliances to $910, customer satisfaction has increased, according to the JD Power 2026 U.S. Appliance Satisfaction Study,SM released today. Overall satisfaction is 705 (on a 1,000-point scale) year over year, a 6-point increase from 2025. Overall satisfaction with appliance retailers increases by 23 points to 706 from 683 last year.
This increase is driven by improvements in several areas, including a 5-percentage-point gain in the proportion of customers reporting a problem-free retailer experience. “Customers are finding greater peace of mind with their appliance purchases this year despite price increases,” said Michael Taylor, senior managing director of retail intelligence practice at JD Power. “Retailers have made meaningful gains in product availability and execution, helping customers find the appliances they want and delivering appliances with fewer issues. Combined with increased satisfaction with appliance durability, these improvements are driving stronger confidence and satisfaction throughout the ownership experience.”
