Large Gains in Same Day ACH Help Drive ACH Network in Second Quarter of 2026

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A nearly 30% jump in the number of Same Day ACH payments and a nearly 10% increase in business-to-business payments helped drive the ACH Network’s second quarter 2026 growth.

For the quarter, volume on the ACH Network totaled 9.3 billion payments valued at $25.9 trillion, respective increases of 6.2% and 11.1% over the same period in 2025.

Same Day ACH handled 435.7 million payments in the second quarter, up 29.5%, while the value of those payments climbed 28.1% to $1.3 trillion.

In the first half of 2026, the ACH Network handled 18.2 billion payments worth nearly $50 trillion, up 5.5% and 10.2% respectively from the first half of last year. There were 838.7 million Same Day ACH payments valued at almost $2.4 trillion, respective increases of 26.6% and 27%.

Other second quarter highlights included a 9.9% increase in the B2B sector, with 2.2 billion payments, bringing first half B2B volume to 4.3 billion, up 10.3% from a year earlier. Internet-initiated payments by consumers topped the 3 billion mark for the first time in a quarter.
