CCC Virtual Town Hall to Feature Expert Discussion on Fair and Ethical LLMs Advantages for Businesses

AI Experts Ed Newton-Rex and Jillian Bommarito Will Discuss Why Responsibly Trained AI is Not Just an Ethical Imperative but a Strategic Business Advantage During a LinkedIn Live Conversation on 8 April, 10:30 am ET / 3:30 pm CET

DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CCC, a leader in advancing copyright, accelerating knowledge, and powering innovation, will host a free virtual town hall on “Fair and Ethical LLMs: Advantages and Feasibility for Businesses” via LinkedIn Live on Tuesday, 8 April, 10:30 am ET/3:30 pm CET.

Ed Newton-Rex, Founder of Fairly Trained and former VP of Audio at Stability AI, and Jillian Bommarito, Co-Founder and Chief Risk Officer of 273 Ventures and Head of Governance for the Institute for the Advancement of Legal and Ethical AI, will discuss why responsibly trained AI is not just an ethical imperative but a strategic business advantage with Roanie Levy, former CEO and President of Access Copyright. The conversation will also explore how responsible LLM training reduces legal risks, enhances brand reputation, and supports the sustainability of the AI ecosystem.

“As AI transforms industries with increasing velocity, companies are discovering that responsible AI isn’t just possible – it’s a business imperative with important benefits,” said Tracey Armstrong, President and CEO, CCC. “CCC is pleased to bring together once again thought leaders in AI governance, licensing, and technology to talk about how rights licensing is critical for responsible AI training, among other important and relevant topics.”

CCC advocates for copyright worldwide by engaging governments, stakeholders, and individuals with educational programming, thought leadership resources, and through its online hub, AI, Copyright & Licensing. In July 2024, CCC announced the availability of AI rights for internal corporate use within its Annual Copyright License (ACL), an enterprise-wide content licensing solution offering companies an efficient way to obtain rights to use copyrighted materials within AI systems. The license provides users with a harmonized set of internal use AI rights from a broad range of rightsholders and remunerates rightsholders for these new uses of their content. CCC also announced in March 2025 that the organization was preparing to launch a new AI systems training license for the external use of copyrighted works.

Since 1978, CCC has supported content users by providing efficient, harmonized licensing solutions for their content uses. CCC’s non-exclusive voluntary collective licensing solutions include ACL for Business, Multinational Copyright License (MCL) for Business, ACL for Higher Education, ACL for Curriculum & Instruction, and ACL for Student Assessments. In addition to licensing solutions, CCC provides one-stop access for users to request, receive, and pay for full-text content and permissions to re-use content.
